Richard
Boissonneault is a self-taught artist who revels in the excitement of new
projects. His insatiable appetite for knowledge and discovery has always driven
his artistic career and has led him down some interesting creative roads. As an
illustrator in the U.S. Army he was introduced to the deadline driven
environment. His work ranged from simple graphics for presentations to medical
and scientific illustrations and even included some fine art pieces for the
various units in his battalion. After leaving the service he worked as a
photographic retouch artist, honing his skills with the airbrush. And taught
himself technical and architectural rendering. Richard then went to work in a
sign shop, learning and perfecting the skills of the sign painter and the art of
the hand-carved sign. in 1990 he left the sign shop and began working as a
freelance artist, eventually starting his own shop specializing in custom
airbrushed painting. The shop went on to win several awards for excellence in
the custom painting field.
Richard left the shop in 2002 and now devotes his talents to portraiture, illustration, fine art, and woodworking. He looks forward to experimenting with photography and sculpture in the near future.
